Actor models are useful when identity matters

Actor models tend to become useful when a domain has lots of independent entities with state, identity, and behavior.

They are not magic. They can also be overused. But when the shape fits, they can make certain systems easier to reason about because each unit owns its own state and decisions.

That tradeoff is interesting to me.
